"I know it's deemed as being Middle England. Everywhere's got an Acacia Avenue, haven't they?"
A Resident, Acacia Avenue, Britain
For more than half a century Acacia Avenue has been synonymous with British Culture
So when the people at AA Insurance wanted to get to the heart of modern Britain, they didn't just pore over dusty spreadsheets.
They spent three months conducting a ground breaking study visiting Acacia Avenues and their residents across the UK to create an historical insight into the lives of people living on Acacia Avenue in 2006.

This website chronicles the findings in a stunning collection of photographs taken by leading photographer Simon James and the 'Acacia Avenue Census', which tells the story of the lives of the residents - their jobs, families, interests and aspirations.
Have your say
"Didn't Bananaman live on Acacia Avenue? and if I'm corrrect, I believe Charlotte the Harlot lived at number 22 ( just ask Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast).
